Orange Clockwork FINISHED 99.9% Anyway.

Thatā€™s one that is on my want list, the orange/white fadeā€¦.how did you get on with the rattle can spray, it certainly looks great in the video and pictures.

Yeah itā€™s not too bad to use. I think I could do a better job next time though. You have to hold the paint fairly close or it turns to powder before it hits the frame. Quite resistant to runs it was.

Iā€™d actually get it powder coated next time because of the effort to get it down to metal. By the time Iā€™d bought stripper, grits, primer, paint and clear lacquer and my time it was quite the effort really but I just wanted to paint one to see if I could.

wow that looks really nice. i have the same model clockwork also a 1991 i believe. so gonna try this myself after seeing how nice yours is. Who did you use for the decals please as they look fantastic.

good work with the spraybike paints as i hear they are very powdery. im going to try using Montana paints.

i used Gil for the decals. This paint is quite forgiving but if you hold it too far away it drys mid air leaving a weak powder finish. 5-12cm are the instructions on the tin for the coloured paint. I was a bit far away first coat but holding it closer was much better.

thanks for that i will have to get some of those. i want to get a suspension fork for mine though as im so use to front suspension and intend to use it on my local club rides. i guess it kinda has to be a pace fork really. i may do a sort of restomod 1 x 10 drivetrain but want the rest to be more original timeline stuff. Im so glad i saw your project as i was about to see about clearing some of my bikes out but now i must try to do something similar as that white and orange is so nice..
