One of a kind Lee Cooper E-stay

I'm starting a build thread in the hope that one day I actually complete this and the thread compels me to do so... updates will be slow and sporadic I suspect.

I just love fillet brazing and so was a bit of a sucker when I saw this listed on ebay. We negotiated a price we could both live with and now, it's mine all mine...

The only E-stay that one of the great unsung (relatively) of British hand building ever made with chunky filets to hold the tandem tubing together... it will be either XT or Olympus or XC Pro depending on whether a XT U-brake or black Campag U brake or Suntour rollercam turns up first...

I'm thinking that if Mr Cooper still has decals it may get sprayed in gloss black with Salsa A La Carte rasta type additions but so much may change in the next three years 🙈. If not, it may just get a touch up and a coat of lacquer...

As said before, don't paint it.
It looks so good as is, and it's only original once.
Save that money for the build.

Great looking bike.

Very cool! Keep the paint for sure. Looking forward to seeing it built. Keep your eyes peeled for a U-brake donor bike.
