hiya

I'm looking for the seat clamp size for a 2002 ish on one 456, I thought it was 28.6 but after buying a nice hope seat clamp at that size it didn't fit. :x

seems I need a 29.8, does anyone have a seat clamp that size in PURPLE?

You may want to look at 30.0

30.0/29.8 is also the Kona size (basically the size for steel framed ~27 seatposts)

Im looking at the specs of my inbred 26" vertical dropout.

Seatpost Size (mm)-27.2
Seat Clamp Size (mm)-29.8
Front Mech Clamp Size (mm)-28.6

Which appears to be the same as your 456. The 29.8mm i dont know about, but the 30.0mm fits perfectly. Might be the paint but so close, 0.1mm all round tat its near as dammit and its not like its going into space or anything.
Plus the used to list the spec as 30mm clamp. So I reckon its just so each year theyve a new figure to print.

Both pretty much the same size for the clamp, hence the spec for both.
