On One Parkwood

So starting a thread just to help me decide on a few things in one place instead of multiple threads.

So have this on the way (hopefully arriving today). Planet x have sold out for now in 20" but they had a ex display one cheap on eBay so picked it up. This is a slack 29er, 4.2lb frame (claimed), tapered headtube, and replaced the Scandal which was pretty popular.

Anyway, here it is. Have some new RockShox recons which again were a steal on eBay from Planet X again. 120mm solo air, which is travel length they recommend.









Going to need to cut this steerer down!



And a FSA headset in a weird size I cant explain (semi integrated drop in or something or another)

Need a crown race tool for steerer as mine is only 1 1/8th. Hope to sort tomorrow.

Wheels and tyres arrived.


Took a long time choosing tyres. Nobby NICs always seem well rated but I'm not a fan at all on my (now gone) 26er. These onza lynx are tubeless ready but I've gone for tubes for costs for now and just as it's easier for now. Decent folders and good compound these are down on Evans to £16 a piece from £50 or so. Seem supergrippy and very excited about them. Gone 2.25 front and rear.

Either deore double or my brother in law is selling a x9 groupset as he's upgraded to 1 x 11. Have to check condition of it first.

X9 is good stuff, it's what I use on pretty much all my builds, as it's well priced new and s/h and very available.

Plus it works perfectly.
