Olympics mens MTB race on BBCi

The racing is better to watch live! The womens was a lot more exciting as that "tricky section" caused chaos with a load of stacks!

The BMX was mint. I hope they showed this back in blighty. The best cycling I have seen for a long time!

Added some very professional photos from my phone so apologies for the quality.

The official that was checking off the riders numbers as they came through every lap thought he was making a mistake with Killeen as he progressed through the field.

Wish you were here!

Andy

ps Charlene is the best hi 5 but no longer in it. DVD's cheap here so you can let the kids watch the old stuff over and over!?!?

What a ride from Liam!!!!!! IMO would of medaled if it was not for his early problem. I would love to see him give the road a good shot for a couple of years, especially if we are going to put a team in the TDF and then come back to MTB in time for London 2012.

Absalon looked superb - the whole package - strong, technically good and full of self belief.

TV does not do XC any justice as it ' flattens' the course out, that said I enjoyed the coverage today, but the highlight of the games for me was the BMX - fast, furious , exciting and more or less and instant result.

What happened to Wells? Three laps down huh, Crash, Mechanical or body problems?

I am sorry, but USA riders can not handle XC at world level anymore - the goals posts have moved since Tomac, Ned etc ruled the roost.

What do people think about the 2012 Olympic MTB course location - apparently it's in Essex - not my idea of MTB country - try North Yorkshire, Scotland or Tims area - Wales (it would probably kill a majority of the field - a proper MTB race!)

I agree with you. Hadleigh isn't somewhere that I would drive an hour to ride. IMO they should have moved it to Margam Park or Plymouth. I think Fort Bill is a bit 'over-used'.....

As for today, fair ride by Liam but I can't help feeling that we always have an excuse for him not being on the podium :? The course didn't look too challenging, I may be wrong and I can't help agree with Scant, Tomac would have been showboating the last lap :D
