OLDEST bike on retrobikes???

My authentic Mt. Tam style Repack Klunker based around a 1935-1937 Schwinn Excelsior. In regular use and surprisingly quick down the black run at Innerleithen last fall. Slack angles, terrible brakes and an all up weight of 40lbs makes it a bike you don't want to be getting in the way of

By god Dr S, that looks like it could be so unstable when ridden down the road never mind down a black run at Innerlethen did you do the 3 jumps on it too!?

Sadly I did. The last one was a hard landing which blew the front tyre. It ended up around the front hub, shredding the tube in the process and plonking me down the steep banking. I also bent the solid billet seatpost and bent the wheel. Worse bit was I had no spare tube so i got back to the car park on the rim. I still managed to pass a guy on the way down though- to be honest that was due to piss poor brakes rather than macho bravery

You would be surprised if you rode it. Its very long, heavy, has slack angles and an upright riding position with those tall bars. Its like a big burly DH bike without the suss or brakes and very stable at speed. just don't expect it to corner without sliding it round on the brakes

Rossco well id say you was winning with the oldest bike so far. Is it your daily commuter????
Blimey Dr S that 3rd jump is quit harsh on any bike as its fairly lumpy on top im suprised you made it to the edge, are them rims a 24 inch?
