Older full suspension frames

I have a '98 Y33 frame hanging in the shed I'll get around to building back up again eventually.

i definately agree with the nostalgia thing...thats what has got me all misty eyed and onto this site...i was in london a few weeks ago when a guy rode past me on an immaculate rc200 with slicks on , a pair of rc30's on the front - ringle skewers..it just looked the bomb(and just like the one i used to own) ..and it made me get searching to replace the bikes i sold years ago !! (havent managed to get another rc200 but have bought an rc300 to get me back in the saddle !!)

i wish you happy hunting

bet that was jerky

Fork will need a service before anything..

it needs more than a service it needs it's internals

was servicing them when picture taken, hence the spanner )

Forks now serviced and internals back in correct order thanks to schematic on this site, its running sweet, havent done much on bikes, now in one week Ive serviced my fox rp23, serviced me front rock shox judy xlc's. done all the bearing and freewheels, basically a weeks crash course in bike maintenance. marin and trek now running sweet :D

Those old URT suspension designs....either they work for you or they don't. They were known for the 'pogo' effect bobbing up and down when one pedals along. Not too bad for me and my Brother-In-Law as we decided to be adventurous and tried the notorious Y bikes with URT designs. Tried various air pressures and rebound damping and managed to get away with it. Yes they are dated suspension designs, but we sure have fun with ours and they are quite a blast to ride once sorted with the damping and spring rate/weight/ air pressures. Here's my Brother-In-Law's 1997 Y33 & 1998 Y22 & my gaudy looking Y50 to share :)
