Old Fat Chance spotted today at work

Erm - maybe the guy/gal just likes the bike as it is :?

Its used well, the frame is in good nick, its not a garage queen. So what's the fuss - leave it be. Suppose the alternative is to Garage Queen it, but why? Its a fat rider :?

I'd recommend better rack mounts tho' and poss a new seat.

In which case good luck to 'em!

Tbh, none of my bikes are Garage Queens (love that phrase  ). they all get used regularly. I have never got a Fat Chance because I knew I would never ride it. Maybe I now will get hold of one just to put it on a wall somewhere.... :x

let all the air out the back tyre and see if it then just stays there

you'll then know if its a real cyclist (ability to fix puncture)

if it is thats a lead into owning it

could always be an inverse snobbery build

ie WDS with high end components / high end frame with WDS components

Ha Ha, that's a good trick!

Seriously though, the owner of that bike can't give a damn about it and would probably part with it quite easily providing you go in using the right banter.
