Oil levels for '97 Z1s?

Hi folks,

My 1997 Z1s have been getting a bit sticky recently, so I thought I'd have a go at a quick service - looks about as simple as you can get. The one thing I can't confirm is the amount of oil in each leg. The manual (from the archive here) says 50mm, 1.96mm from the top, can anyone confirm?

I can’t confirm if this is right as I haven’t done it but that’s what my original manual says aswell.

It's a tweaking variable, even for coils.
Yes it is when compressed and from the top.

Which also gives the hint if your a proper retrobiker with a good quality bear belly, then use 45mm

Yeah thanks fc that’s a great document for the earlier bombers. Will deffo use it as got a couple of forks I have been putting off doing as not fiddled with forks before.
