If you were to ask me for an opnion( and i know already your not going to), i would say that the wheels don't match the rest of the bike aesthetlically that is. (Pssss IOW, a bit on the garish side) Something a bit harmonic for the eyesight, visual karma and not so much " In yer Face".

I have thought that aswell but no budget for another pair of wheels as already trying to sell some currently so making do with wheels I wish to keep.
 
IMO, such deep rims don't look right on a retro-style bike. Last year I fitted a set of 40mm rims on my Colnago because I couldn't find suitable replacements for the 20+ year old Mavics. The only reason that I can just about put up with them is that I had them sprayed up with similar air brushing to the frame. When I can find shallower rims that I like the look of the deep ones will be going the journey.

I do have some DT Swiss shallow wheels somewhere 🤔
