As this is relatively clean for once, I thought I'd put some photos up.

I've had the frame since launch and have become quite attached to it, low, slack and long (for a small 😁) but not stupid, does everything well and I can see me keeping it for a long time.

We went home today, 100K from where I’ve spent the last 16 days resting up after my latest worn out body part repair. Yesterday was the first day that they said it was OK to drive. I stopped for gas 25K from home. I wanted to wash the road salt off my windshield. Jeez, the blue stuff at the gas station for cleaning windshields was a block of ice. IMG_1034.jpeg
Then we drove to our storage unit to put away summer clothes and get out the rest of our winter stuff. Jeez again. There was a Lake effect snow storm about a week ago. The storage unit it is about 10K from Lake Superior, on a hillside, facing south and 200 meters higher than Lake Superior. The blizzard out of the north, off the big lake, piled the snow up in a big roof drift. Then it got above freezing, then it rained causing the snow to avalanche off the metal roof blocking the access doors with shovel bending snow. IMG_1027.jpeg They’re predicting another 51cm of snow there tonight. We dumped 15 kilograms of salt on the top of the snow by our access door in hopes it will keep it from being frozen shut for 4 months. I’ll keep dumping salt on it until it opens. The roof avalanche made a lean in the power pole. I wanted to use my truck as it has 4 wheel drive. I dug the drivers side door out and started it. I let it run for 2-3 hours with the heat on high. IMG_1032.jpeg
I shoveled and pried off enough snow to give me a small opening so I could see. After the 2-3 hour warm up I took off, it was extremely slippery as it has raining, and jammed on the brakes. Even thought the antilock brakes were pulsating the blanket of snow came off over the front. The bed was still covered but good enough. Never work if you don’t have to. IMG_1031.jpeg IMG_1033.jpeg

This went rigid for quite a while, looked fine, rode fine but sort of ruined it, wasn't really what it's meant to be about. Trouble is I sold the Lyrik before coming to that decision and suspension forks aren't cheap. DSC_0987.JPG
Finally managed to afford a nice new fork on sale recently so it's back to it's best.
If I'm honest I don't ride it much but do thoroughly enjoy it when I do. 👍 😁 _20241027_180625.JPG

Well, they got the part right about it getting colder. But, they missed called the snow, instead of 51 cm we got 0 snow. What I’m trying to figure out is how can it be this cold and still be raining. It may be the gale blowing the warmer spray off Lake Superior but it should freeze instantly. I don’t get it. My truck has thin ice all over it. When it gets like this your windows and doors won’t open. I can usually force one door open so I can start it and thaw out the cab but occasionally I can’t pry it open.
