Good point...I've got two sets and one has a black spider and the other a plain alu one.....this is weird here though :?

Are you guys serious?

First pic has the spider attached to the front of the crankset, the other has the same spider attached to the rear, to get the chainrings closer to the BB and frame... you were joking, right?

It's not that weird.....

The black spider can get bolted on either side ( typically you do this in a ss application ) the silver disc part is permanent that is why you still see the silver when the spider is on the front.
