I miss mine, but I know it's here and in good hands.. ;) ;)

Isn't your old one the one that's now even more fluro than it was originally - I didn't think that was even possible!! ;)

Both of the Al -Mega's in this month's botm lead back to GT-Steve!....he is the epicentre of all things Al-Mega! (mikee has the rest!)

Mikee's tidy original example  was from Steve's (was) vast collection of alpinestars, mine was a frame and fork project in strange repaint that could only be described as 'A-level design project'. No offence to chrisv40 if this was your choice of paint scheme!

Bet your counting down the days barney! - awaiting more pics as soon as you get it!

Cheers.

Have to say I agree with the sentiments to keep the Profile - it's a real time capsule of a bike...

I might keep the Profiles and the Avocet saddle for originality's sake, but for the purposes of riding the thing, the saddle will be changed to a Flite Alps and the Profiles will be coming off, as will the dreaded toeclips! :)

Won't be as comfortable as the cro-mega, too stiff for my liking; that's why I've always been a cro-mega fan.

Incredible looking bike though...

Lovely bike Barney bet you can't wait to compare rides with the cromega :D

Thanks. It's the agonising bit now - waiting for it to arrive with me in the UK! I think the Al Mega will be a bit of a fair weather bike, and Blackstar (the Cro Mega) will be my more everyday bike. I remember taking my friend's Al Mega for a spin back in 1992, but I've ridden hundreds of bikes since then so I can't remember for the life of me what it rode like!

Thanks We_are_Stevo - as soon as I saw it I had to have it. Pity I didn't think of the fact that it was over in Canada, plus the fact that I'd have to stretch to afford not only the bike, but the postage too, but hey ho  . I've got one (well, actually 2 if you add the Cro Mega) of my all time top 10 within a week of each other now, so I'm happy :)

My girlfriend, on the other hand...... :? ;)

Yeah, you see what you get when she asks for something and you pause for that fraction of a second too long before you say yes!
