Is it just a re-sprayed Marin then?
My Fleet Engineers is just a (very badly) painted Carrera, with their companies logo painted on.

More than likely Dentons used a Marin,most probably a Pine Mountain,it wouldn't have been a Team because it's got the eyelets on the seatstays and the Team doesn't. Also the frame and forks weighed 7lbs and the full bike with this spec parts is 24lbs without pedals,Marin claim 22lbs for the 95/96 Pine Mountain with the spec they used.
Once it's complete i'll send some pictures to the lad who was Dentons mechanic and see if he can add anything.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Diablo as well, they ride really well.

I'm hoping to find it rides brilliantly but after cleaning all the years of muck,grease and poking around at the frame i've encountered this problem. It's a bloody hole :cry: :cry:
As you can imagine i'm in a bit of a sulk with the Yates at the moment but i'm not giving up on it yet. I've seen online you can get them patched,so if that can be done i'll just retire it onto light duties and have it as a posh pub bike.

You could get DY to replace the stay and have an identical respray? Would cost a small fortune mind!

Looking at the worming around the hole I reckon it might be quite rusted inside

I think it might be the only option going down that line i'm not giving up on it yet

While i've been in a huff i've got the Denton ready for it's maiden voyage,really chuffed with it

Thought i'd get a couple of photos of the Denton in road spec and off road spec. The bike is 99% complete all i need to do now is restore the m-731 XT comp and DX comp pedals then decide which will be used. After that i want to find a Syncros seatpost to add the finishing touch to the build.

Think i'll resurrect my Denton since i've found a way to make it rideable again
Long story short the threads on the driveside are damaged so the bottom bracket won't sit properly but i've found a cure,a threadless cartridge BB which is in the post

First steps i've given everything a deep clean and then done four coats of polish which has brought the colour out lovely.
Parts wise i've had my fun on the Muddy Fox so i'm planning on using some of those to keep costs down but knowing me that might quickly spiral out of control once i get ideas into my head

That was back in February last year mate,once i found the problem with bb it was stripped down and dumped in the loft in a huff

Denton does look great. I love the tubing proportions & the kit you've put on it. Early STI's etc.
The threadless bb should have it going again.

Sun's out

Stuck the parts off the fox and quickly got it out in the sunshine for a quick couple of photos.

First impressions,i'm over the moon with it the bike looks so clean.

Parts wise the majority are staying,i want to swap the DX front cantilevers for some Suntour XC's to match the rears.
I want a new saddle for it,probably a much better condition Flite.
Yellow cables,mmmm not to sure at the minute,maybe keep them.

Let's hope this BB sorts the problem out because when it was built up the last time the bike felt brilliant to ride,so light and responsive,fingers crossed it works
