By "here" I meant the Retrobike community :)

I worked for a Raleigh 5 star Dealer so only sold a few non-raleigh, had to mend quite a few though. Aside from my normal racing my contact into the pro's was via Billy Holmes so never came across any Peugeots there.

I know from your posts that you are a current mechanic / technician.

yeah Shaun manage a shop at present. started as saturday lad in 80s  first race bike was a carlton had a few peugeots over the years, loved my peugeot 753 that i had wilst in france getting my arse kicked lol

Funnily enough I started as a Saturday lad in the 70's ..........I hung around the shop so much they gave in and gave me a job :)

Cliff Pratt Cycles in Hull :)

My First race bike was a Carlton as well (Cobra). I couldn't sprint at all so TT'd and road raced like my hero Phil Bayton which meant I won bugger all LOL Then gave it all up to to Uni in 1978. I often wonder what would have happened if I had stayed....

The OP's bike looks pretty clean to me, no need to take it all apart just plenty of elbow grease, check out he tyres / brakes / drivetrain / throw away the reflectors and ride :D

I have one of phils tops a coventry eagle one he gave me. My mam worked for local paper and had to go interview him after he had won blue riband? I think i was 12 and he said i could go with her. I used it as a under vest first time i rode for wales he was a hero of mine too

.......I have a Phil Bayton Shimano hat which he wore when I followed him in the team car....I can still hear me praying for him not to puncture as it was my job to run out with the spare wheel and swap it !!

Are you famous?

Think I am going to get it re sprayed? Where is the best place. Also when I strip all the components off. What should I be replacing them with?
