Anybody seen that Head badge before ?

Might have been the 100th anniversary or something. Loving all these pics. :D
I have piles of old French cycle mags this is 1979,i do remember anniversary stickers on Raleighs but what year ?

You have me there, you would need to ask one of the Raleigh experts from the other thread, they would be able to tell you what day that one was made and probably what the frame builder had for breakfast that day! :D

Looks to be the same as this one . It was on an 753 Ilkeston frame I had some years ago.
Time Trial Special .

I wonder how many of these got built, Reynolds 531 {not mine .} It belonged to a collector I knew a few years back . I was told,it was made at the Nottingham special build unit .

Re:

Looks crazy, with next to no seatpillar out, it looks pointless, but perhaps back in the day it would have looked ok

And a spoke protector?

Re:

With the cost of keeping all those stars, Raleigh had to make cuts, and i think the advertising department budget was it :? That is one strange bike.

Maybe Raleigh has got fed up of seeing these bikes coming onto the market completely confusing and misleading the potential buyer and have decided to offer an alternative option..
