New old stock? No way!

So I work at a university and our surplus department is just downstairs from me. Never know what you're going to find there. Today it was an (apparently) original and pretty much new Fuji S10 S. The thing hanging from the top tube is the original manual in a very yellow plastic sleeve. It has a bit of rust on the chrome and the rubber parts are shot, but I don't think it ever saw much use.... I've been on this campus for nearly two decades and have been in just about every space but never saw this anywhere. Lord knows what dark basement it came out of!

Just thought I'd share. I'm not planning on buying it but did quite the double take on it! Sorry for the lousy picture. It was an afterthought. If it's around tomorrow I'll take more pictures.

If it makes you happy, go for it. But just in case you're not aware, it looks nothing special. Just an everyday, low-rent sports bike. It's no classic pukka race bike

Reminds me of when I came across what looked to be a fishing tackle shop going out of business in the Perpignan area years ago. It was over 4 floors, and in the window there was a huge A1 poster of Bernard Hinault. I went in and made the guy an offer on it, and he invited me upstairs to 'look at bikes'... There were about 30 vintage Peugeot all in the boxes, gathering dust. Unfortunately there wasn't a Reynolds frame among them, they were all shanners, kids bikes or city bikes.

I bought some vintage tools instead, and a bin bag full of Mafac brake levers. And a Peugeot bell!
