Hi Retrobike,
I just joined yesterday, did not know about this forum but was referred by Wadsy here. I have a Specialized S Works M2xx frame that I built in 1998 with high quality components at that time and a custom built wheel set. I rode few years in late 90’s and into early 2000’s. Then kids and life and no riding since 2003/4.
I am 54 now and this was my first season back on the mountain bike. The bike felt good and fast and I started to improve and ride more consistently. While a modern bike would be a great upgrade to my riding and my old bones, I continue to maintain and riding the S works as much as possible. I started searching for spares and replacements on ebay and friends. Now I need a wheel to flip my AC rear 8 speed sealed bearing hub to a new rim since I tweaked the rear on a bad bunny hop and running low psi in the tire. The rim replacement for V brakes are the hardest to find in my opinion. I hope that jointing this forum that would change. Thanks all Stevo
