New Elastomers or Spring conversion?

Good choice. I have Manitou 4's and would get elastomers over the spring kits anyday, it's what the forks originally came with after all.
Unless as mentioned earlier in the thread you could find some form of damping cartridge for the springs then I think you made the right decision.

My elastomers are shot, and being on the larger side i want something thats going to be good for me

i fitted this kit to my manitou 3's ,only problem is that the white springs
were a very tight fit in the fork legs ,so i fitted 3 red elastomers instead
(i'll grind the o/d of the springs at some time and fit them)
it works very nicely without the white springs seema to damp okay as well
