New definition for NOS

Re:

I prefer mint/light use bling parts that I don't have to fret about using. If I have to buy NOS, I try to wait until the same goody comes up mint, then let the NOS go. None of my bikes would ever get any votes in BOTM as they are not mint enough

Theres an RB member who had the foresight to raid the NOS of shops in the early to mid 2000's. He is now sitting on a potential fortune at todays prices, even if he undercuts the market by some %

That reminds me, I have some storage containers to go through.

No selling any of your storage container finds at a profit though. Some people really hate profiteering

Ha. My feedback speaks for itself.

Now if you're looking for a new one of these, you're gonna have to pry open the wallet. :D

Can't comment on your feedback personally - you didn't reply to me when I PM'd you about buying some parts earlier this year. Never mind eh :)

Bad form to post PMs, but seeing as you called me out......

And the reply to the one after that ? Post that one.

Oh.......... you didn't bother replying did you :xmas-wink:

Was it in a For Sale thread? No, it was i the what I found/scrounged thread. You took a cheeky punt at a seat I came upon and posted in a thread about old parts you've found. If I posted it for sale and didn't reply that would be a different story. Move on.

This, totally. My bikes are riders, and NOS prices are just too high to let me ride the parts.

Re:

Some people "only know the price of everything and not the value" one of my old biker mates said about crazy prices back in the heydays of early mountain biking. He was right. NOS should mean a stash of never been opened goodies fully sealed in their boxes or original packages which are in themselves in good condition, having been cosseted unsullied by anyone's mitts in an Aladdin's cave for several decades. Not "kNackered old shit" as LGF rightly says.

Not likely to part with my old components (still good nick but too used to flog) – got these crated up and run newer easier to replace bits on my frame for everyday use. It still looks like a vintage bike (imho) but it was meant to be ridden, enjoyed and thrashed, not be imprisoned as a garage queen butterfly.
