Hi all,I would be most grateful if I could get some help with my new build. I have bought a 2012 Boardman comp HT frame for winter to save the Klein and GT.I'm now faced with the task(that I rather enjoy)of doing a bit of research and buying/fitting the frame up.At this stage Im wondering if I can fit some thing like this?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-Deore ... 4620ab6804

The Boardman I believe is a 68mm BB with originally an internal BB,which from I gather from reviews was Poor.I know that I should be able to convert the BB no problem, but I worry about chainwheel rub against the chainstay.I also believe the OG kit was a three ring set up,so I will go down the same route again.

If anyone can help and has some proper specs for this frame(large) I would find it really useful .

Many thanks .Eric :D

Re:

That should be fine. Hollowtech II chainset/bottom brackets fit either 68mm or 73mm bottom brackets, you use 1 spacer on the drive side for 73mm BBs, 1 spacer on the non drive side and 2 spacers on the drive side for 68mm BBs: http://bike.shimano.com/publish/content ... lation.pdf

Don't over tighten the spindle end cap, part number 5 in the document above, just nip it up finger tight. If you over tighten it the bearings wear out quickly. In my experience, even if you get it just right, modern external BBs don't seem to last as long as ye olde UN54/55 square taper BBs. :?
