Your still doing backwards/reversed photography to keep us all confused, lol, welcome back, bars look good, you need to get some shots against a neutral background to show the bike off, and the right war around :)

will post some better pics asap, just need to get a chain whip and can start work on the rear wheel, just been trying to get the decals off but looks like they are lacquered over the top of i think

if your on the partington / sale / altrincham side of manchester & get stuck with anything just give me a yell - i've not got much free time at the moment but if i can help you out i will happily spare some time to get you up & running.

I SS'd an old marin last year & it was dead simple so you should be fine, loads of vids on youtube (and have a look at charlie the bike mongers too, thats all i used) thinking about it, i think i only need to find a wheelset & some spacers and i think i've got enough random spare crap lying around to build it back up again!

I will keep that in mind thanks boss, as i will probably need a bit of help when i get a new ss crank and i am in chorlton but work in old trafford

got a pair of schwalbe marathon plus on the way cost £15 posted and i think i need a new rear wheel, took mine off today ready to ss it in the next few days and the bearings sounded terrible.
Also would like some opinions on cranks, here are a few i have found

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNTOUR-42T-S ... 500wt_1054

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QUALITY-SR-SU ... 600wt_1037

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=79611

http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/product ... 4-chainset

also was wondering if its safer to just buy a bb with the chainset so i know it fits.

any input apreciated

A selection to choose from, all I did for my trek was remove the 2 surplus rings, had to change the chainset bolts but that was all, however I did think about buying a dedicated single front crankset but as always money was better spent on other projects and the set-up I had was working perfect :) any new pics yet?

Cant take the other rings off as they are riveted on and looks terrible. my phone is broken so going to pinch my brothers cam when I get chance.

Ah I see, cheap option would be put a wanted in the forum for a chainset you could use with single ring, might even get one Karma'd to you. Save you a few pennies :) I kept same BB on mine, as you can move the position of the rear sprocket you can sometimes get away with keeping the original BB, always options on this great site, and doesn't have to cost you the earth :)
