Dirt Disciple
Just picked up one of these cheap as a work bike, as i am just getting back into cycling. Also looking for a few parts, just ordered a quil to threadless adapter and now am on the look out for a stem and sum straight bars, but the main thing i am struggling with is if i should turn it into a n ss, i have found an ss kit and chain tentioner as it has vertical dropouts but i am unsure how i turn the chainset into a single also. any input much apreciated [/img]

If you have to use a chain tensioner, why not just keep the derailer in the back and run it 1X7? I don't think it's worth the trouble to rebuild the wheel when it's going to look basically the same as if you kept the gears.

Just my opinion of course.

For the front I picked up a cheapie Bulletproof crank, a 42t FSA wheel and bolts for $37.00, used but nice.

Light, too, you will notice the difference if you go this route.

Oh, and that silly logo comes right off with a little elbow grease.
