its a avalanche 200% as ive got the same in my shed

Avalanche was 6061, this is 7005

And 200% isn't possible

no they wernt then they were 7005 they are 6061 now as i have a 2005 model

Agree with the assessment on the integrated seat clamp. So according to the 98 catalog the bikes with curved top tube cap and integrated clamp were the Avalanche LE, Avalanche and Ricochet. Appears as though this one has been powder coated. What's the serial number and is the dropout stamped 6061 or7005. If 6061 Avalanche or LE, if 7005 only choice with integrated clamp would be a Ricochet.

Bit of a fail... sorry chap. .

And in between the last 2 posts I got a sanding block out and removed 3 layers of paint from the Avalanche frame to check the stamp.. .. .. was a little amused (mostly at myself) for bothering. . .
