Need help identifying my new GT frame

Already peeled off the battered GT stickers, fancy making my own decals. It'll give me something to do at work.

I'd be interested in seeing how that turns out ;)

Agree with the assessment on the integrated seat clamp. So according to the 98 catalog the bikes with curved top tube cap and integrated clamp were the Avalanche LE, Avalanche and Ricochet. Appears as though this one has been powder coated. What's the serial number and is the dropout stamped 6061 or7005. If 6061 Avalanche or LE, if 7005 only choice with integrated clamp would be a Ricochet.

Ricochet then if it's a 98 would need serial number to confirm. Could be lower model yet if newer than 98....a number of 99-00 lower 7005 models had the integrated clamp...Saddleback, Rebound, Backwoods.

More importantly, what size of BB will I need?

Measure across the bottom of the bottom bracket with a metric ruler to determine if you need a 68 or 73mm wide...the length of the spindle depends upon the crank you are planning to use...which is a???

Serial number is: S8HK16793. Is there a GT register somewhere to check against?

Thanks RE measuring BB - def. a 73mm - don't know what crank set I'm using yet.
