Mystery part: Brake pivot sleeve?

Hi. Any thoughts on what component these are from? They are steel. I think they're brake pivot sleeves(?). No other parts where with them.

Likely you are correct some cantilever brake part. Funny thing is when you need something like that you will never find it, but when you have it you can never figure out how to use it.

They are sleeves for Avid Tri align brakes.
The groove is where the grease sits.

Avid sleeves don't have hexes on the ends.

The Tri Aling IIs were rounded, that's true. But the first gen Tri aligns were hexagonal. Just like this pic.
