Re:

Groovy

1"1/4 generally points towards early 1990's doesn't it?
Any other marks or numbers on the frame?

It’s wearing a pair of early 90s Cannondale Pepperoni forks with the force 40 brake pivot.

Which response would you like

The 'no shit Sherlock' or the 'I know, I took them off a bleedin Cannondale!'

Or the slightly less terse its the frame I'm trying to identify here, it been raining most of the afternoon and I've got bugger all else to do

I shall call him 'Bazil'

Bazil the frame was free, the wheels and forks came from a £10 Cannondale along with the uber rare 1 1/4 sized aheadset. Weirdly I had a spare spacer too

The oversized seat tube wasnt that common in the early 1990's as it would have required a funky top pull mech or a roller and a fat front mech. M900 XTR came in the right shape at 34.9mm but I dont think M730 had anything at the time. 560 LX had 34.9 top pull mechs with conventional swing but not until a bit later

I've a feeling its as late as 1994

'NE34 7TG' is South Shields

Re:

Maybe a Taiwanese Alfton frame. Looks very similar to my '93 Wheeler 9900. Also 1.1/4 inch but with 31.6 post and a few other small differences. Every brand ordered the frames their way.
