My terrible memory!

Write things down on paper. You'll remember things this way.

I do that - the biggest trick I find is remembering where you put the paper

That's the trick. If you write it down you're head becomes the paper. By writing it down you're making a unique physical movement. Combine that with the unique sound by speaking it out. The unique piece of information you want to remember will
more easily take it's space in you're brain.
In fact, the universal tap on the screen doesn't work for learning and remembering. That's why I'm no fan of digital education.

Dutchman writing English here so don't get me on language detailling...

I often do, still forget. Or I write notes on paper, then lose the note, and forget what's written on there!
However, I understand and recognise what you are saying about the action and memory logging. Top tip!
And like all other Dutchmen I've met (Dutchwomen, too ;) ) you all speak and write perfect English! Yopu even invented one of the English "Words of the Year": SWAFFELEN! (Jeroen van Roekel recently taught me this work hahahaa!! He loves to Swaffle!)

Think its just a sign that you have a life, when you start putting the kettle in the fridge after making a cup of coffee or park your car on your neighbours drive when you get home, then you should maybe start to worry :)
THIS!

Sorry Reggie I had to Google “ SWAFFELEN” and I would not have believed it had I not read the explanation- I’ll let the screen dump below explain more

This place is an education. The question I’m dying to ask “does it work” as I might try it on the wife tonight

Do Dutch people actually do this ?

To be honest, even in Dutch it sounds dubious and strange. It's not really a common word at the cash till here.

There’s a word for that? Etymologists must be so impressed.

Apparently the scrabble dictionary increased this week too.

I really am falling behind.

As for the subject of memory. Most of mine are misty watered coloured memories.

Of the way we were.

Talking about losing it, ive just been trying to wipe a mark off my laptop screen, only to notice it was the pointer

Lol @ Mark - I recently did the opposite, trying to select a path on a graphics program, only to find it was a speck of dust on the screen

@Spud, yes, to swaffle is to be Dutch. Like teabagging, from what I understand, a kind of rite of passage of a teenager, if you havent been teabagged/swaffled, you're not drunk/kinky enough
