My RC100 Restoration approaches completion

Not been on here for a while but I thought I would show you all how the Pace restoration has gone.

Just a couple of pictures for now.

Some finishing off needs to be done over the coming days.
1) Find some amber walled tyres.
2) Find some period SPD pedals. (not bothered about getting XCPro bear traps)
3) Anodise / spray machined brake bosses.
4) Find that elusive 27.0 XC Pro / Comp seatpost
5) Find an XC Pro braze-on front mech. Tried to make one out of an XC Pro band on and XC9000 braze-on mech but just too different to sensibly do.
6) Acquire NOS or replate magura bolts and hose connectors. I know I can get black anodised parts....it's just not right.

Particular thanks goes to:

raymond_mole

Many thanks to anybody else who helped me on the way.

I will be out on the Pace for a retrobike ride soon.

Clem

Looks lovely   I'm particularly partial to the Bullseye cranks - YUM!

For me, personally the tyres could do with being swapped for some period amberwalls, but otherwise the build's absolutely cracking ;) :D

the RC100 with its unique features is a really cool bike....
you're aiming for a period correct with components in perfect condition.
you - obviously - don't settle for less. i love it!

So guys, as you are all hung up on the temporary rubber :)

Who knows of some Amber Walls at Sensible money. They do not need to be Specialized Ground Controls but obtaining a pair would be spot on from a Retro point of view.

I will post some pics with the RC30's on instead of the RC35's soon.

I rode it around some local tracks last night. How on earth did I race this thing in the early 90's. It has a more aggressive riding position than a TT bike :D

I even did a season of NEMBA DH races on it and place pretty well. Looking back I think of that as suicide. How times change.
