My Pace has arrived, but what to do.....

Re:

I think all 1 inch head tubes have a pair of vertical ribs running the length of the tube that the top tube and downtube are welded to, 1 1/8 head tubes don't have this, they're just circular in cross section

I took it to LBS last night, 1 1/8th is wayyyy to big, but.... the 1 inch is loose, it fits but it's not tight in the tube, is there some kind of shim required, it won't rattle once the forks are in but if I take the forks out the cups will just drop out?

Odd!?!

Also, can anyone tell me what length BB axle i require please

Re:

As above, I'm fairly sure 1"1/8th headtubes came on the F6 onwards.

You could have the old ISO/ JIS headset issue, what headset are you fitting? Get the Venrnier calipers out and check the internal diameter of the head tube, top and bottom.

BB axle length depends on what chsinset you'll be using. What are you planning of fitting?
