Hope Bulb rear hub service?

Retro Newbie
So I changed bearings in my Hope Bulb rear hub. When I hammered the bearings in as if there was no tomorrow the surfaces where the hub sits in the frame measured exactly 135.0 mm from each other as they should, but the bearings were awfully stiff and it took quite some force to spin the hub. I dis- and reassambled everything and didn't put as much force into putting the bearings in place. Now the bearings spin freely, but the hub measures 135.5 mm.

I followed a lot of online how to's and Hope's exploded diagram of the hubs quite rigorously, so everything should be in its place and my only explanation is that the bearings should be drifted in a tad more, but dunno...

Is that within tolerances or will I have any issues? Any idea would I could have done wrong?

it'll be the axle not seated properly they sometime mushroom a bit as they can be quite soft. Or the spacer wasnt sitting correctly behind the freehub, ive seen that before on Ti Glide rears but not usually on a Bulb.

pull it apart again, carefully seat it all and it should be fine
