My Pace has arrived, but what to do.....

Leave as is! Looks like whoever built it up didn't set the anti chainsuck blocks up properly.Welcome to the club. Grey and red -good combo. Pics of my grey and red f8 in my gallery.

And nice to see some Paces on the frontpage instead of all that triple triangle nonsense (just kidding gt owners. But, have you noticed that one brand tends to dominate the front page, then is replaced by a plethora of posts about another brand? Must be time for Pace again soon)

soz, thought there was a linky button in my sig

That looks good, It it 1 inch steerer on those?

I think I may go blue though instead of red

1 1/8 steerer

That pic is quite old. Completely stripped it in the summer, Tim rebuilt the forks for me (they were looking very scruffy). New rs7s, new atac carbon pedals, nos 95* front mech. Been sporting a ti alien for a while not the alu one in that pic. Put some contis on it, changed the grips.

Looking at your parts wishlist I have most of those bits in my loft. The box really needs a label on it - my next Pace. All that's really missing is a frame, headset and forks.

Mine is 1" I think. The head tube in 1" 1/8 so that would suggest to me I need 1". If you want to sell anything let me know.

You might want to remeasure to be sure - it should be a bit bigger than 1-1/8 - 30.2mm according to sheldon brown, whereas 1-1/8" is 28.6mm

So Do I need and inch or an inch and an eighth, the man at pace seems to thank all F5s are 1 inch

Re:

If the man at Pace says 1", he is almost certainly correct. However, looking at your tape measure...
One of the reasons i measure diameters of tubes with verniers.

You do have another course of action, take it with you to your lbs, when you go to but your headset. (Always works for me, if in doubt ask the bikeshop).
