Pace update

Hi All,

This week I have got hold of a new xt groupset and some fox forks for my new toy.

I went round coed-y-brenin (?), bets-y-coed and dalby on the pace last week with the rigid rc31-c-type forks in, and it was harsh to say the least.

I stumbled upon some fox talas forks which work great but are maybe a little long for the frame. I am on the lookout for some very usable Pace (susp + disc) forks to finish the job, so please PM me if you know of any for sale, ideally with lockout. I may sell or p/ex the RC31 c-types :)

My aim is to build the bike which I can really use (even race on) but which harks back to my Pace days. I'm sure the frame can still hack it and IMHO it looks good. I've gone for modern components so I'm not at a disadvantage when racing or hammering it.

Cheers, T.

PS, sorry pics are a bit sh@t

Top looking bike, but have to agree the Fox forks don't look right...still, you're riding it and that's what counts!!!

Forx

I would have thought a nice set of RC36 Pro Class 2's would be the correct period and look better than the Fox, but to be fair the Fox look fine to me and not too long at all. The colourway matches the frame well too. Bet it was hard work at Dalby ridin rigid! Those trails are getting very rough after just a year, as the trafic is very high and the top has eroded through to the big rocks underneath in places. Better tyres would help tho? I find the Hutchinson range better at absorbing trail shock than most. What psi you running at too? I'm fairly light, so run at 30 psi on the rougher trails.
