The record headset on my Lemond has pitted. It looks like a seal has failed and let water in. I've re greased it until I can source a replacement. People are asking 300 on e bay for NOS. I may have to get a new issue record,not as nice but will be ok. Previous one lasted 20 years so can't complain. May replace BB at same time.

yeah sorry, agreed.im sure you will get some. extortionate prices on the well known one! cycle jumbles were a lot better a couple of decades ago the writer's of 'cycling plus' would have stalls
there . now its time to pound the miles and brave the elements !

The prices of some of the poor quality components that back in the day no one bought are stupid. I remember paying £50 for my headset when new now someone wants £300. I'd rather make one!
