My bikes ready for the Ride 100 (done)

Devout Dirtbag
I just hope I am. I've just got over a chest infection, so my training has not gone to plan.

Anyone else taking part?

Re: My bikes ready for the Ride 100

Good luck and enjoy the (retro) ride. I did it last year on the Pace in my sig. Was a great event with a great sense of cameraderie.

I was due to do the 46 miler, but had to full out due to unexpected commitments :(

Enjoy the ride

The way I've been feeling over the last few weeks I wish I'd just entered the 46. Anyway I'll give it my best shot. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I missed the hills and just did the 86.

The choice of riding the hill was taken out of my hands, due to the crashes in front. So first my best wishes for a speedy recovery to the 2 riderss airlifted to hospital.

My official time for the 86m I did was 7h 49m. Unofficial 6h 25m taking off the time we were held up.

Re:

Well done, I heard about the injuries how they are ok.

Edit. just heard that someone passed away of a heart attack on the ride, damn :(

It was my first attempt this year and I was stuck in Pyford just behind the crash for 90 mins. Walking a mile on cleats wasn't great but apparently the guy was in critical condition and airlifted away so I can't complain. No updates on his condition as yet. Another 10mins forward and might have been in it :(

The ride itself was great and I found myself overtaking loads of people on Leith Hill, mainly because 42x21 gives quite a high minimum speed :) There was always a wheel to hold onto so quite a quick ride. I did 5:30 (moving time) in the end which surprised me as my target was 6:30.
