My '96 Zaskar so far (Pic Heavy)

Hi all,

I just thought I'd post a few pics up to show you my '96 Zaskar build. It's coming along well - There are still a few bits and pieces that I need to get such as a nice red Ringle stem, and some new bars and a saddle as well as a couple of other bits to finish it off, but it's looking ok so far.

Thanks to Corduroyboy for the Superflys and to Caramba Kid for the lurvely wheels and QRs!

I Nitromors'd the seatpost this morning to remove the horrible yellow spray paint from it and it came up pretty well - I can certainly put up with it until I can find the money to buy a 27.0 ringle one!

Incidentally - The handlebars are for sale if anyone is interested (Titec Enduro 141s - £9 posted, for sale post to follow)

Apologies for the state of it - I've just got back from it's first little test ride around Worcester Racecourse and it was a bit wet on the ground! Hopefully in the next few months I'm going to strip it down and send the frame away to be polished and to have new decals applied but I just wanted to get it running for now!

Anyway, here are a few piccies, the first one being the bike as it was when I bought it. Let me know what you think:

Ah I don't care about that - I'm sure it'll look a million times better with a nice red Ringle seatpost and stem on it than it currently does

I'll get a yellow saddle to tie-in with the accents on the decals, and if I end up being bothered about the seatpost and stem clashing, then I'll just sell 'em and get some silver Thomson kit instead.

i am too building a Zaskar as well but a 96 Ink Blue model ...will post some pics in due course .

cce's comment about the colour clash has got me thinking now....

Should I got for an anodised blue seatpost / stem instead of the red? It won't match the hubs but it may look better with the decals..
