Ok the bike is up and running and is good as new.

I replaced the elastomers in the end with land rover defender front bottom suspension bushes which were £3.60 in total, bargain. They were the perfect height and had a 12mm centre hole. The outer diameter was too big, to solve this a laid some Emry cloth out on the work bench taped it down, put a bush in the drill and sanded the bush down,repeated for the other 3 perfect result.

Bike is now good as new.

Nice. Would you post any pic? Last week i remembered that land rover bushes were used in this kind of rear suspensions but i forgot to tell you here.

I use valve springs from the engine of an old Volkswagen Beetle...

Granted, the ride is a bit bouncy... and it bottoms out if you try anything too aggressive with it (or if you've eaten too many pies)... but it works and it looks cool.
