After being given this by a friend,

the re-commissioning is almost complete.
It had been lying idle in his garage for a few years and was missing a back wheel and one of the thumbies (integrated into the brake lever) had been replaced by a sachs thumbie.
Stumpjumper1990's courier comp in this thread

set me thinking about highlighting the yellow aspect and dr carlos' pathfinder in the same thread inspired me to fit some suntour XC brakes that were lurking in the bits box, along with sone SE rears that I bought from SJSC for £4.99
so,
new wheels, Campag Atek on deore LX hubs from GT Steve
Farmer john's cousins (on a £25 e-stay find I bought for the kids) I resisted having yellow tyres (just!)
Presta tubes from the LBS
Deore thumbies from scant
Blue cable end caps from mountainloz
A KMC chain and basic 7 speed cassette, and yellow gear outer cables, yellow brake blocks, and blue grab on lever grips from ebay
yellow brake cable outers from Bristol Bicycle workshop
Yellow ODI Attack grips from Blue Lug in Japan (and the cool sticker that's now on the down tube)
Suntour XC and SE rear cantis, Suntour cable hangers and 4 finger Suntour levers
retro bike stickers on the top tube.
The bike is currently wearing my Ti brooks B17 and my Carradice SQR, as I'm going to try the commute on it
The last thing to do will be to fit the yellow Ti Avocet saddle I bought from Yo Eddy, and it'll be done... unless of course anyone has any blue or yellow presta value caps...
It's a bit of a 'bitsa' but it looks great and rides nicely, and I like the detailing such as the 'paw' in the seat tube lug and the needlessly fancy bottle bosses; for a mass produced frame they're nice touches...
so... feel the Muddy fox love.... (with some slightly better camera phone pics than before)
