i took the bike appart today.

need soms new parts i think

new cassete and chain
new bottom bracket (what type?)
and new shifter (missing a tooth )

i bought the decal set here on the forum from Gil.
so i can get it resprayed
only i need to know what color i need to take. some tips? i read that kawasaki green is verry near to the original?

Just fitted a new one in my Courier Comp, and with 122.5mm the chain line was way out. Settled on 118mm.

It has the standard exage crankset and wheels, so why the difference. The old cup and cone BB was also 118mm. :?

That is a mystery... I'm no expert but I do have 12 courier comps!... At least half of them have had their bb's replaced with no probs. the 1990 courier comp had a 400lx crankset And the 1989 had a mountain LX one... Basically the same with a different sticker I think.. Is this what you got on yours?

I'm gonna check on sheldon...

12 Courier Comps?!!! :shock: How did that happen??

Yes, mine is a 400LX crankset. I think from memory Sheldon says its a 121mm.
I did measure the original axle, which was 118mm, but I assumed Sheldon must be right so bought the longer BB. As soon as I fitted the crank to the longer BB it looked wrong. Can't be anything different with the frame, must just be a peculiar crank I reckon.
