I have to admit, I've done the clean while mud is still wet approach but also the ' let it dry and brush it off '. I prefer the latter. But I will whip the chain off and clean it properly in the mean time.
If tyres are muddy, a nice slow roll through some road puddles sorts that out
I will say that Raceface bottom brackets DO NOT LIKE THE WET. one ride in the wet and the drive side seized up....
