Can I use motorbike fork/shock oil in mountain bike suspension fork? Seems you get so much more for a lot less, as opposed to going with mountain bike specific product such as Rockshox or Finishline, etc…

Yes. I use Silkolene Pro RSF Fork Oil in my old bombers. It's available in 7.5 wt and costs about a tenner for a litre.

okay, i need it for two applications. One is to service the rear shock on an Mongoose Amplifier/Amp B2. Was told to use 5wt oil, but could also use Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). :?

also need to service my recently acquired Bomber Superfly. From the fork manual:

Fork leg oil: type EBH 16 - SAE 7.5. 50 c.c each leg
Lubrication oil: 7 c.c. each leg

But it doesn't say what WT to use. Can I get 5wt and use it for both?

ah so SAE is the weight? what does EBH stand for?

and what type of lubrication is recommended? i might be needing some replacement seals from www.enduroforkseals.com. should i grab a tube of lube from them while i'm at it?

I used to redo the oil the shock on my Edge every other week (MBA used to call the wheezing noise the shock would make after it sucked in some air AMPhysema). Got it down to about a 10 minute job. Used a decent name brand Dextron ATF fluid.

The fork oil will lube everything. Being Marzocchi, you shouldn't need to replace the oil/seals etc more often than every few years!

yeah, the rear is making a "squishy" "wheezing" noise. gets a little annoying when you're full peddling.

but the manual says to drop 7cc of lube oil in each leg. :?

hope replacing the seals will fix the slow air leakage i seem to be having. :(
