More Disco shenanigans  .
So, really wanted a winch bumper, cant afford one, besides probably never buy a winch as i know i'll never use it, very expensive item to buy just for the sake of having it, it would sit out in all weathers (i know you can get covers for them but they look pants), probably end up siezed through lack of use.
Managed to weld some bits of 1" box section to my stock bumper which has made it look a bit like a winch bumper (i think), failing that it certainly looks more meaty and ties in with the rest of the truck
Cut the ends off it, cut a slot out of the centre, for the imaginary winch cable of course
.
Also fitted these 1" spring spacer plates to the front, surprisingly tight to fit, thought it'd be a case of lower shocker disconnected, jack up the chassis, let the spring hang loose, slip the spacer in, 1 hour max :
, took four hours to get the swines in, had to completely remove the shockers and get spring clamps in, even then getting the spacers in place took a lot of levering, hammering and swearing, would maybe have been easier removing the anti-roll-bar :
.
These have leveled the ride height out.
Front bumper done and painted, only thing is, in a moment of madness i painted it Ford Electric Orange, not sure if i like it or not, thought about doing the wheels to match but will probably end up painting the bumper VW orange to match the wheels.
