most expensive pair of oakleys i have ever seen

These can be had for cheaper, and other non-shaun white ones can be had for as little as $75 usd.

I had some of these Frogskins BITD. The frames broke whilst they were sat in their box in the cupboard. Exactly the same thing happened to my dads. Oakleys are Overpriced rubbish if you ask me.

o'rly!

I owned a set back then, and I own a couple sets now. I wear them; don't collect them. They fit me well; are light weight, and fairly flexible, where they need to be. Have a polarized set and a more standard set. Nice old school sun glasses.

Who's "Justin Beiber"?

'overpriced rubbish'

well each to their own, i guess thats why lux bought oakley for over a billion dollars a couple of years ago, i guess thats why the US military use them for their eyewear and apparel as standard issue, i guess thats why oakleys are the eyeweare of choice for over 90% of olympians....they must be rubbish!

i collect and wear oakleys and have done for over 15 years, i have worn and raced both standard and polarized lenses and can say they are way above all their competitors for clarity, durability, style and all round functionality-as well as the old school designs which led the way in what other competitors are still trying to replicate.

everyone has their opinion, but to say its over priced rubbish is a bit extreme.

i hate to vent, but on this occasion the facts speak for themselves.....just my opinion :)

and one with which I agree :)
and might I add, mine get tossed about in the glove compartment, to various pockets, to my 2 year old's curious grasp, and still have not broken.

I've seen 3 pairs of Frogskins break (due to heat we think), mine, my wifes and my brother Frogskins all broke in the rims at the base of the lenses. One set were clear red, the other two I think that called clear but they had a blue tint.
However my A-wires are fine (apart from split ear socks but they are nearly 10) and I still wont use any other goggles for racing.

Carl.

Again, I'm stunned how many times some item catches my interest, then I pop in here at RB, and behold! A conversation about that very subject.

These just ended....$535!-and they are used. I was looking at a bike part the seller had listed and was checking out his other auctions and could not believe it:

I love the one posted Q&A-'Would you take $150 for these?'

I have no interest in sunglasses, I just cannot be bothered to think about them constantly, and police my every movement so they don't get hurt. I buy the $10 jobbies use them until they break or get lost.

Oh snap! Sub zeros were my first ever oakleys. Saved money for almost a year to buy them. I think I've paid 170 DM in Germany? They about dead now very badly scratched. Anyway, more than triple price now.

i had a pairof sub zeros. they looked pretty ridiculous...not something i would want to ever own again..let alone pay us500 large for..each to their own thoughof course..

they might even be stashed away somewhere i suspect. hmm time to dig them up and cash in!

Thats exactly where mine broke. I seem to have stirred something up by calling them 'overpriced rubbish' - there is no denying they are vastly overpriced, but then so are many brands, and if they can charge £100+ for some plastic sunglasses and get away with it then they will. You can make your own mind up about the quality of the product they offer. My experience remains that I bought a pair of £40 sunglasses, and they broke due to an obvious design flaw. Oakley invited us to send them back (at our own cost) and the best they could do was offer a discount on a new pair! Thanks but no thanks Oakley - I'll take my business elsewhere.
