This is my first bike that I've thought of posting up here - because its my nicest build yet! (Soon to be eclipsed by the Scott G-Zero Strike Team Issue I have almost finished) Was Gruff's old bike..

So a nice carbon frame from 1995.

Pace RC36 Evo III fork with V-brake mounts added
Rear XT hub, front Pace hub on Mavic X517 rims
Race Face Evolve XC crankset
XTR rear and XT front derailleurs
Titec HC bars, Mission stem, Outland grips
LX shifters
STX RC levers
Avid 20 and 5.0? brakes

and then some old Sport Contact tires which need changing ASAP!

This is what it used to look like with original build - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mongoose-IBO ... 243wt_1139

This is my version! (apologies for bad photos)

Nice to see another Mongoose on here, particularly an IBOC like this one as I had the bonded aluminium Comp SX version. Built it in '97 but it was stolen a year ago. Was my only bike for all those years. My son's mate had the carbon version like yours built at the same time but a couple of years later mashed the frame in an argument with a car on a country lane.

Mine had the RC36 forks too and was a nice ride but a bit unforgiving on the rear end, very stiff.

Yours looks nice too. Lot of seatpost and spacers there though, is it a bit too small for you? Please hurry with decent tyres, this is not a road bike! ;)

Oooo nice to see the old girl again :D

But how tall are you? thats an awful lot of seatpost & steerer spacers :?

Yeah might me a midge small but I quite like the whippyness of a small fame. The spacers are partly because I detest cutting town steerer tubes on such nice forks, and also because for city riding I like a nice upright posture. Don't tell me I should be riding a Dutch bike! I don't have enough space for two mountain bikes in my Brighton house so I have to leave this in London with my parents as my 'city bike'. Sad but true.

Thanks!
