So I built up this bike in the end - it turned out to be a Cannondale Scalpel full suspension, which wasn't what I'd been thinking of but it's as light as a hardtail (lighter than most actually at 10kg!).
But now I've also ended up with some road and MTB parts that would make a nice 26" winter/gravel build for the right frame. So for a different project I'm back on the lookout for a frame basically like the one in my original post - a lightweight carbon or aluminium 26er disc frame, doesn't need to be so tidy or attractive as it'll be a winter bike. I'll be looking for a rigid carbon fork for it too.

- to fit me at 6'0 and 33.5" inside leg, so probably looking at a Large frame (I used to be 19" in old money).
- for 26" wheel (disc)
- standard 135mm QR dropout
- ideally for 1&1/8" straight steerer, it will end up with a rigid fork on it
- headset fitted (so I don't have to!)
