Could you post up any extra close up pictures of the frame? Its not always the case, but team issue frames were often reinforced in certain areas, compared to the standard frames. eg missys old ARC-AS, the shorter travel version of your AS/LT has massively overbuilt dropouts

Haha indeed I would be skeptical as well, but knowing the bike has spent its life in the Durango biking community, I do believe it belonged to Missy. Mike did mention that the factory race bikes most likely would have had a rear shock mount with an extra mounting location to change the angle of the shock, so it likely was a bike of hers, just maybe not one intended for competition. I am halfway through a 72 hour shift at work right now, and will post more detailed pictures when I get home.

Weren't many of the team bikes, particularly the top end riders bike, identified by more than just a sticker with their name on? I've seen some where the riders name is engraved under the bb rather than have the mass produced frame number engraved. Can I ask what's under the bb and if it has any markings?

I ask because sometimes riders had "homeage" bikes created that where then given away for charity auctions, bike dealers, promotions etc and these would never have been a riders team bike but would have been a look a like.

Very nice frame! Strip the bike and wash/polish the frame and get some xtr m900/910 with silver or turquise Ringle parts. Would also look killer with grafton cranks and hed rims!

Well, it's been a while, but the project is slowly coming along. Most of the parts have proved somewhat difficult to acquire. Thank you ridevintagemtb for the fork and some other leads! I must now dig for any expert knowledge of the vintage Ringle hubs. I finally found a turquoise Super Eight on ebay, but unfortunately found it to have a freehub that slips. The pawls and teeth both seem slightly worn... does anybody know an effective way to repair these or have any idea where I can find parts? I'm kind of tempted to take a file and try to sharpen the edges, but I don't want to make anything worse.

Honestly....nothing comes fast when sourcing parts that are 20+ years old! Took me 2 rebuilds and 4 years to finish my regular run of the mill Yeti ARC. Unless your Pros Closet or someone that has frequent access then I would keep your eye on the classifieds, EBay, and yeti forums. They're a gold mine of knowledge and sometimes the people you meet can help out in ways you never would've known!

Great bike , it's definitely coming along nicely (although I'm not sure I like the Spin rear wheel on that frame..).

What's the condition of the Risse shock? Are you looking to vamp that up?
If so, I'd be interested to know what equipment should be used to get the shock out of the frame..

It can surely use a good clean, but other than that it looks to be in great shape for its age! How do you know it's from '94, BTW?
I've always thought mine is too (I'm slightly rebuilding that at the moment).
