Mint GT Lightning Frame Now Sold

Size

Its all a matter of personal choice, but many ride too big an mtb frame and it depends on your leg/back length, but an 18 in GT is way big, more like a 21 in other sizes. My main ride is a 12.5 in ctc Merlin and I'm 5-6.5 so the ratio of a 16 to you would be similar.

I noticed elsewhere you might sell the frame seperately.

I might know someone who is interested, I'll ask him in a bit ;)

Chris.

Thats what I said, the XiZang has the wrong dropouts tho, looks like a polished Lightning, should have the pointy bullet dropouts and no GT logo surely?

You sir Mr. Wold Ranger are lost and need some schooling on your GT's. The Xizang began using the "GT" logo'd rear dropouts in mid to late 1994 and the Lightning didn't even become a model until 1997. Hence the Lightning has the same dropouts as the Xizang not the other way around. The point bullet chiseled dropouts were only used on Xizangs from 93 -mid to late 94 when they switched to the "GT" logo'd dropouts. There is a thread about the different Xizang dropouts and I posted pictures of all three a few months back. search it and go to school!

GT Ti mountain bike dropouts over the years are pictured below. Note the comments at the top of each picture for model years covered.

NO!!!

Xizang is USA built out of Sandvik tubing
Lightning was built in Taiwan with Asian Ti.

Similar geometry and tubing diameters though.
