That is a cracking looking bike - what tyres have you put on it?
It's got some Michelin World Tours that came with it which are getting a bit cracked. I had cheap repro ones on my Karma Triumph and they looked identical.

Combination of lack of space and the fact that I can't push 48 x 16 gearing for very long with my bad knee means that this has been relegated to living in the loft for the last couple of months. However, what with the relentless wind recently, I decided to get it down and change the gearing a bit to make it my wind-friendly bike. So 48 x 21 it is, with a nice old Villiers fixed gear, and the commute in this morning was very pleasurable!

This has been a really enjoyable read along with some very good detective work.
Well done on resurrecting that old beauty!!

I wholeheartedly agree with the others that this is a great thread, and I have really enjoyed following your progress with it this far.
Its a really great looking machine, really purposeful looking in my opinion.
Look forward to seeing more of it.
Thanks

Jamie

Haha, thanks guys! Another 20 miles racked up today. The winter gearing is awesome and I almost feel guilty flying past people struggling on newer bikes! I think toe clips are definitely in order and maybe a longer stem. Not completely period/original but it'll make it more comfortable.

Took a ride down to the hydrogen fuelling station. I liked the contrast between past and future.
