In the ongoing garage rationalisation, I have just found five Michelin HiLite 27x7/8" folding tyres from 1987 (they're date-stamped). Made in France.
3 x HiLite Road. 1 NOS (never mounted) and 2 lightly used (one mounted on a rim in the pics).
2 x HiLite Comp. Lightly used.
The lightly used ones have a couple of nicks (Cambridgeshire flint...) but plenty of tread left and I would still use them if I have any wheels. These truly wonderful tyres have always been my favourite; I was very sad when they stopped making them, and have still not found anything better. The rubber is very grippy (so they wear quite quickly).
If you have 27 x 1" rims (has anyone got these still?), I don't think you'll find a better tan walled tyre. Would fit perfectly on an 80s restoration.
All five tyres for £25 posted. I think the NOS one is worth that on its own.
