... this Merlin needs skinwalls
whether black or skinwalls panaracer from 1990, it's always a pleasure to ride this bike

The continuation of the evolution of this bike..

The nice existing black forks is suspension corrected and did not fit to the geometry of this frame
so I had to find a new solution and after a very long search I found it ...1 inch P2 ;)

The combination really convinced me.

now I wonder if I should powdercoat the P2 in black?

I'm going to do the same thing on mine : swaping the original Ritchey, a bit too low (385mm) for a higher Project2 (395mm). I tried other forks, and it appears that 395 is the good length for my XS sized Merlin frame

Re:

The final state of my Merlin with Joe Murray project 2 forks. This combination is just perfect :D

Me thinks something is wrong with your front brake setup.

I did one with a Yellow P2, looked neat but turned out not to be the best fork for the bike.

I think this one was a 393mm which is pretty much ideal for the Merlin as designed.

Then I did one with an IRD, looked amazing but wouldn't work for me on the trails

The koski was pretty damn nice, but I wanted a bit more rigidity

Ultimately settled on the Type 2, which is ideal for this bike IMO
